Sungrow Unveils Innovative Solar-Plus-Storage Solutions at Green Energy Expo 2024 to Accelerate South Korea's Energy Transition

Sungrow,a global leader in PV inverters and energy storage systems,showcased its advanced solar-plus-storage solutions at the Green Energy Expo 2024. These solutions are strategically designed to meet the escalating demand for sustainable energy sources,garnering significant attention from expo attendees.

South Korea's Ministry of Trade,Industry,and Energy has set ambitious targets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 44% by 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. Additionally,the ministry aims to increase the share of renewable energy to 21.6% by 2030. Sungrow aligns its mission with these goals by continuously developing cutting-edge technologies and advocating for the adoption of solar-plus-storage systems in South Korea.

At the expo,Sungrow unveiled its solar-plus-storage solutions,including the "1+X" modular inverter,SG350HX string inverter,and the new PowerTitan liquid-cooled energy storage system (ESS).

The "1+X" modular inverter offers a minimum capacity of 1.1 MW for a single unit,scalable up to a maximum of 8.8 MW by seamlessly integrating eight units. This flexibility allows customers to customize their capacity needs,catering to utility-scale PV plants. The SG320HX string inverter delivers reduced Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE),enhanced protection,and robust grid support. As the latest addition to Sungrow's liquid-cooled ESS line,PowerTitan2.0 integrates an innovative AC storage design,an embedded Power Conversion System (PCS),and a standard 20-foot,5MWh fully liquid-cooled energy storage system,expandable up to 10MWh. The string PCS enables independent charging and discharging of battery racks,resulting in a remarkable increase in the system's discharged energy capacity.

The exhibition featured solutions tailored for the Korean system situation beyond inverter functions. In the 'Rooftop Safety' zone,Sungrow introduced optimizer-compatible MLPE and RSD solutions,along with AFCI functions of the P2 series,emphasizing safety. Additionally,Sungrow showcased VPP and Zero Export solutions compatible with the P2 series,reflecting global market trends.

Sungrow's SG20RT PV inverter,a three-phase solution with a capacity of 20kW,is ideal for household use,meeting the needs of families. With two Multiple Power Point Trackers (MPPT),it can connect to two independent solar arrays facing diverse directions. Compact and lightweight at 18kg,this model is perfect for residential systems.

Project team leader Kim Min-seong said,“The battery market is now experiencing a transition from electric vehicles to energy storage systems. Powerstack,a commercial water-cooled energy storage system (ESS) introduced at this exhibition,is a battery,PCS,and battery system that goes beyond traditional methods. It provides an all-in-one solution by integrating EMS into one enclosure. “This product is a 100kW/200kWh product and can be expanded in parallel to up to 10 units.”
